Marluce is our paid part-time worship coordinator, responsible for the worship ministry. She is from Brazil and led worship there in a church of 10,000 – quite a shift for her to lead worship in our church of 150.
But Marluce has a special anointing. Sensitive to the Holy Spirit, she is able to flow with his promptings. Her emotional vulnerability connects with the Spirit to produce a powerful colour in her ministry.
In our full services or in small groups, she is able to transmit, channel, facilitate a felt sense of God’s presence. On Sundays, the Lord uses her frequently to draw from people heart-felt worship, praise and adoration. She is skilled at celebratory worship, but also draws in the congregation to focus on the Lord.
In our all-night prayer vigils, this is especially evident. Here small numbers permit a greater intimacy and intensity. Singing in tongues, expressing mysteries with our lips, in our various human languages. Falling to the ground in worship. This can go on for hours, and we do not want it to stop.
Then it is that we enter into the heavenlies, the swirl of the Spirit all around us. We are lifted up in adoration.
